The composition of the 310 Stainless Steel makes it suitable for high-temperature applications. This alloy has a higher composition of chromium and nickel compared to 25% and 20%, respectively. The material has excellent resistance to oxidation; hence the plate can be exposed to temperatures of up to 1100°C for intermittent service and 1150°C for continuous service. The combination of chromium with nickel enhances not only the steel’s overall toughness but also its resistance to corrosion, particularly when subjected to severe thermal and chemical stresses.
